Join me, Kate & Dimitris for an unforgettable journey on the Italian island of Sardinia—an island of mystical ancient culture, extraordinary natural beauty, and one of the world’s remarkable Blue Zones!
Sardinia is a land of dramatic contrasts, from rugged mountains and ancient forests to turquoise seas and gorgeous beaches. In the Blue Zone regions of Sardinia, we will learn about the traditions, food, daily life, and community values that have shaped this unique culture and its reputation for longevity and well-being.
Come with us to Sardinia for 7 nights to experience the island through its food, nature, history, music, movement, and local communities. The intention of the trip is to connect you with the people, village traditions, landscapes, mystical ancient history, and the wild spirit that makes Sardinia so unique.
While in Sardinia, we will stay near the Blue Zone region, participate in a traditional Sardinian cooking class, hike through the forest while learning about local plants and foraging, and explore fascinating Neolithic and Nuragic archaeological sites. We will discover the ancient Nuragic culture and the Greek and Roman influences that have shaped the island. We will also visit a family farm and shepherd’s hut to learn about traditional cheese making and the agricultural traditions of Sardinia.
A highlight of the journey will be a boat trip along Sardinia’s spectacular eastern coastline, with time to swim and explore beautiful beaches, caves and crystal clear waters. We will also participate in a local mountain festival filled with traditional dancing and music, offering an authentic experience of Sardinian community and celebration.
Morning yoga will be offered throughout the week by Kate and Jaya Lakshmi with a focus on accessible and energizing practices that connect us to nature. Jaya Lakshmi will share her music through a special concert and additional musical and meditative offerings. Additional activities may include a traditional dance class, visits to folk and archaeological museums, tastings at local biodynamic natural wineries, kayaking, shopping & exploring local towns and villages, and opportunities to interact with the Italian and Sardinian languages!
One of the unique aspects of our journey will be experiencing Sardinian agriturismo—connecting with the land through local food, family farms, and the warm hospitality of rural Sardinia.
This is a journey for those who want to experience the real Sardinia—a place of ancient traditions, vibrant culture, incredible food, majestic landscapes, and deep connection to nature and community.
